How much does a custom website cost in 2026?

The most common question at the start — and most websites do not answer it. Here you will find three fixed prices, what exactly is in them, what is not, and who the website ends up belonging to.

No “price on request”

The video is voiced by an AI avatar. The script and the prices are Tomáš Richtr’s.
Video transcript

No “price on request”. A website here starts at one thousand nine hundred and ninety crowns a month. Once we have agreed the brief, the price is fixed and does not change again. Design, code, SEO and launch are all in the price. Hosting and maintenance run for the whole instalment period. The website and the source code are yours. Write me two sentences right below the pricing about what the site should do. Within twenty-four hours you will have a price, a package and a date. Free and with no obligation.

With us a custom website costs CZK 14,900, 29,900 or 59,900 depending on which of the three packages you choose. These are not “from” prices — it is the amount you pay. Anyone who does not want to pay in one go can pay for any package monthly — from CZK 1,990 over twelve months.

The rest of this page is about what lies behind those figures. What running it costs, who writes the copy, what tends to be hidden in cheap offers and whether a website is worth it for you at all. If you only came for the number, it is a paragraph above.

Not sure which package is yours? Eight questions in the website price calculator will recommend a package, show the fixed price and the date, and work out the first year including running costs. No e-mail, and you see the result straight away.

Work out the price in a minute

The three packages and what is in them

The difference between the packages is not in the quality of the work. The code, the speed and the behaviour on mobile are the same in all three. What differs is the size of the site, how much of the work on the copy we take on and how long we look after the site after launch.

Basic at CZK 14,900

One longer page divided into sections — who you are, what you do, why you in particular, contact. We build it on a structure that has proved itself, so we are not inventing a layout from scratch, and that shows in the price. You supply the copy; it can be in an e-mail or in Word, and typing it up and formatting is on us. It suits tradespeople, consultants and small businesses — anyone who needs an honest place on the internet to send a customer to, rather than a twenty-page signpost.

Business at CZK 29,900

Up to six subpages, a custom design based on your company and one round of changes in which you say what you do not like. You still write the copy, but as notes — we tidy it up, add keywords and put it together so that it leads to an enquiry. We connect one of your existing systems, typically a booking system, a newsletter or a CRM. This package is the one most people choose, and logically so: most companies have more than one service and need a separate page for each so that Google can find it.

Complete at CZK 59,900

Up to twelve subpages and a blog, two rounds of design changes and copy that we write — we meet, spend an hour talking about your company, and the content comes out of that. It is preceded by keyword research, so we know what people in your field search for and divide the pages accordingly. The price includes twelve months of hosting and maintenance, which on its own is CZK 4,680, and three months in which changes are made free of charge. It makes sense when the website is the main source of enquiries, not an add-on.

An e-shop is priced separately

We deliberately keep the e-shop out of this table. The difference between a shop with twenty products and one connected to stock, accounting and three carriers is such that any number given up front would be either needlessly high or untrue. We talk through what you need and you get a fixed price before we start. The details are on the page E-shop development.

Pay in one go, or monthly

For plenty of small companies the problem is not the price of the website but the fact that all of it is due at once. So every package can also be bought on a monthly payment — and it is an ordinary offer, not a trick with interest hidden in the small print.

How it works

Instead of a one-off payment you pay a fixed amount for twelve months: CZK 1,990 on Basic, CZK 3,490 on Business, CZK 6,490 on Complete. The site is built and launched exactly the same way, with the same scope and the same care. Hosting and maintenance are included the whole time, so you pay nothing else.

What it costs extra

We will write it plainly, because it is easy to work out. On Basic the first year comes to CZK 19,580 as a one-off (CZK 14,900 plus twelve months of hosting at CZK 390), or CZK 23,880 monthly — a difference of CZK 4,300, roughly twenty-two per cent. On Business it is CZK 33,410 against CZK 41,880, a difference of CZK 8,470, roughly twenty-five per cent. On Complete the comparison is different: twelve months of running it are included anyway, so against CZK 59,900 the monthly option costs CZK 77,880 and the whole difference of CZK 17,980 goes on spreading the payment. It looks like a bigger surcharge than on the smaller packages, but it is not — measured against the price of the website itself it is roughly thirty per cent in all three cases. On Basic and Business, only part of the instalment is hosting you would have paid either way. That is the price of not having to put anything up front.

What happens after twelve months

The payments end. The hosting and maintenance you had included for all twelve months move to the usual CZK 390 a month, and the source code is yours from that moment. There is no commitment for a second year and no automatic renewal at the original amount — that would turn something advantageous into a trap. If you want to finish earlier, you pay the difference up to the one-off price and take the site with you. No penalty on top.

Who the website belongs to

This is the question almost nobody asks up front and plenty of people then pay dearly over. We will answer it before you ask.

The website and the source code are yours

On all three packages. Not a licence, not a rental, not “you can use it as long as you keep paying us”. You get the complete source files, plus access to the domain and the hosting. Whenever you decide you want to carry on with someone else, you pack up the site and leave — you do not have to ask and you do not have to pay for it. That this is obvious only seems to be true; with a number of website builders and subscription sites it does not work that way, and you find out at the moment you want to leave.

When you get the code

If you pay in one go, right after launch and final payment. If you pay monthly, after twelve months, that is once the whole amount is paid. It works much like a car on instalments: you drive it from the start, you get the papers at the end. It is the only place where ownership differs with us — and it does not depend on which package you choose, only on how you pay.

What is not in the price

The best way to prevent hidden costs is to list them up front. These are the items to add to the price of a website, whether we build it or anyone else does.

The domain

Your website’s address. A Czech domain costs roughly CZK 200 to 400 a year, and endings like .cz or .com differ only slightly in price. The domain is always registered to you, not to us — we handle the registration, but you are the owner. If you already have a domain, you pay nothing.

Hosting and maintenance

From CZK 390 a month. It covers running the site, a stored release history, updates, a response to a problem within 24 hours and 30 minutes of small changes a month. On the Business package the first three months are included, on Complete a full year, and anyone paying for the site monthly has the running costs included for the whole instalment period. The details are on the page Hosting and maintenance.

Photos

Your own photos are almost always better than bought ones, because they show your actual premises and your actual people. When you do not have them, we reach for a stock library — simple licences come to a few hundred crowns per image, a professional shoot on site to thousands. We do not count it into the package price, because we do not know what you will need.

Advertising and long-term SEO

The package price includes SEO at launch — that is, making the site technically sound, findable and understandable to Google. It does not include paid advertising or long-term work on positions, which is a monthly service, not a one-off item. Anyone claiming that the price of a website also gets you first place in search is either not telling the truth or cutting corners elsewhere. More on the page SEO and marketing.

Who writes the copy

The most common reason a website is delayed by months is neither money nor programming. It is the copy that nobody then finds the time to sit down to.

Why the copy matters so much

The design decides whether a visitor stays. The copy decides whether they write or call. On top of that, Google reads text, not images — a page of thirty words gives it almost nothing to classify it by, however it looks. That is why the price of a website is not only the code, but also how the content is put together.

How we handle it by package

On Basic you supply the copy and we simply typeset it. On Business you send us notes, old materials or whatever you have, and we turn it into finished pages. On Complete we sit down, you talk for an hour and we write the text — for most people that is the quickest route, because they talk about their work better than they write about it.

What a website costs elsewhere

For the figures above to make sense, it helps to know what the rest of the market offers. The following ranges are illustrative estimates, not measurements. They came about by going through the public price lists of Czech web studios and freelancers on Google’s first page in August 2026 and adding competing quotes that clients showed us themselves. It is not a representative sample and prices differ by scope and region — take it as a rough orientation, not as a market price list. We deliberately do not give the number of quotes or any averages, because it would lend such a collection a precision it does not have; and the quickest way to check it is to ask for two or three competing quotes on your own brief. Our own prices are the three at the top, and those are not estimates.

Builders such as Wix or Webnode

Roughly CZK 150 to 500 a month, i.e. CZK 5,400 to 18,000 over three years. You put the site together yourself from ready-made parts. The cheapest way in, but you pay forever, the site will never be yours and other users of the same template will recognise the look. Good for testing an idea; for a company that lives off its website, less so.

A WordPress template from a freelancer

Usually CZK 8,000 to 25,000. A bought template with your copy and logo added. Quick and cheap. The catch tends to be that the template brings along plenty of features you do not need, which shows in the speed — and that maintaining the plugins is then your problem. A comparison of both approaches is on the page Custom website vs. template.

A custom website from an individual or a small studio

Roughly CZK 30,000 to 100,000. This is where we belong, and it is the band where something is genuinely coded to measure for the first time. Within this group prices differ mainly by how much of the content work the supplier takes on — which is exactly what we split into three packages, so that it is visible up front.

An agency

From roughly CZK 100,000 upwards, commonly several times that. You get a team, processes, research and someone who picks up the phone. For the money it is not excessive, it is simply a different category of job. For a company of five it is usually more than they need.

What it all costs over three years

The entry price is what you see in the offer. What decides it, though, is the total over the time you spend with the website — and there the order often flips. We worked out three years of running costs, because that is roughly how long a small company’s website lasts before a bigger rebuild.

The figures for the builder and the template are our estimates from public price lists; for our own options it is an exact sum. Two things follow from it. First: a builder stays the cheapest even after three years — if it is enough for you and you do not mind that the site will never be yours, it is a sensible choice and we are not going to tell you otherwise. Second: the difference between a template and a custom website after three years is on the order of fifteen thousand crowns, not double, as it looks from the entry price.

What is deliberately not in the table: the time you will spend on the website yourself. With a builder you assemble and maintain it yourself, with a template you deal with updates, with us nothing. Put your own value on that difference — we are not going to work out what your hour is worth in order to flatter our own table.

Is it worth it for your business?

The price of a website says nothing on its own. What says something is its ratio to what you earn on one job.

Work it out from a single job

How much do you clear from one average customer? If it is five thousand, Basic pays for itself with three extra jobs over three years. If you fit bathrooms and make forty thousand on one, it pays for itself with a single one. So the key question is not “how much does a website cost”, but “will it bring me enough jobs over three years to pay for itself”. For most trades and services the answer is easy precisely because it comes down to a handful of jobs.

When a new website does not make sense

When you have enough work and do not want more. When everything comes from referrals and nobody has ever written to you from the website. Or when you have not settled what comes before the website — what makes you different from the competition and why anyone should call you in particular. A website cannot manufacture that answer, it can only show it. If you are not sure about this, we will tell you so at the consultation and we will not sell you anything.

Fix the old website, or build a new one?

A fix looks cheaper and sometimes really is cheaper. Sometimes it is the most expensive option, because it gets paid for twice.

When a fix is enough

When the site is less than about four years old, works on mobile, loads within two seconds and what bothers you is mainly the content or a few details in the look. That can be put right for a fraction of the price of a new site, and there is no point throwing away something that holds up at its core.

When a new one is worth it

When it falls apart on mobile, takes over four seconds to load, runs on an ancient version of a system, or nobody can get into it because the logins have been lost. In that case repairs cost more than building, because every further thing is done against resistance. The decision can be made fairly quickly — on the page Website redesign we describe what to go by.

How to recognise a good supplier

This applies generally, not just to us. You can choose by these things even if you do not understand the technology at all.

They give the price up front

A fixed amount and what it covers. “We’ll see, depending on the scope” at the start means the scope will be refined upwards. A quote should be on paper and should be comparable with another one.

They show what they have built

Links to working websites, not pictures in a portfolio. Open them on your phone and time how long they take to load. If a supplier has nothing to show, that is not necessarily a problem, but they should explain it.

They put in writing who owns the site

The most important thing and the most often left out. Ask what you get when the work ends and whether you can take the site elsewhere. An evasive answer is an answer.

They do not promise first place in Google

Nobody can guarantee it, because the supplier does not decide the ranking. Anyone who promises it either does not know that, or knows it and tells you anyway.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a simple website cost?

The Basic package costs CZK 14,900. It is a one-page site with sections, a contact form and basic SEO. The price is fixed, not “from”.

Can I pay monthly instead of in one go?

Yes, on all three packages: CZK 1,990 on Basic, CZK 3,490 on Business and CZK 6,490 on Complete, over twelve months, hosting and maintenance included. Spreading the payment costs roughly thirty per cent of the price of the site — on Basic, CZK 23,880 instead of CZK 19,580 for the first year. After twelve instalments the payments end, the code is yours and nothing renews automatically.

Who owns the website?

You — the website and the source code, on all three packages. With a one-off payment, right after launch; with monthly payments, once the twelve instalments are paid.

How much does an e-shop cost?

Most often CZK 45,000 to 90,000, depending on scope, integrations and the number of carriers. You get a fixed quote before the work starts. Details on the page E-shop development.

Is there anything extra to pay monthly?

Hosting and maintenance from CZK 390 a month, and a domain at roughly CZK 200 to 400 a year. On Business the first three months of running it are included, on Complete twelve. With monthly payment for the site, running it is included for the whole instalment period.

What if I want to change something after launch?

Small fixes are free for 14 days on Basic, 30 days on Business and three months on Complete. After that they fall under website maintenance.

How soon will you launch the site?

Basic within 14 days of design approval, Business 3–4 weeks, Complete 5–7 weeks, an e-shop 3–5 weeks. The day-by-day breakdown is on the page How long a website takes.
